Co-Investigator
Dr. Krakower is an infectious diseases physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), Research Scientist at the Fenway Institute, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His is also a member of the Executive Committee for the Harvard University Center for AIDS Research and has acted as a Key Informant for the United States Preventive Services Task Force in developing their systematic review focused on PrEP. Dr. Krakower has successfully completed multiple quantitative and qualitative studies focused on assessing and overcoming barriers to PrEP use by men who have sex with men (MSM) and their healthcare providers. As Principal Investigator for an NIH K23 Award, he has developed an online decision-support intervention, based on shared decision-making, to facilitate PrEP prescribing to MSM by primary care providers. He is also Principal Investigator for a study to develop a peer navigator intervention to optimize PrEP adherence among young MSM.
