Karen received her Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Florida in 2007. She has a background in nursing and worked as a hospital Infection Control Coordinator for several years before moving into research. Karen spent the last 6 years working at the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation in Cape Town, South Africa on HIV prevention clinical trials. While there, she managed the Key Populations Division and was the site PI for the HPTN 075 trial. In her current role, she is finishing up work on the Sibanye Health Project, and starting work on ePrEP, PrEP@Home and HealthMindr. Karen joined the PRISM Health team at Emory University in August 2017.
