Originally from Newport News VA, Laurenzo started at RAIN as a client in the Empowering Positive Youth (EPY) program after receiving his HIV diagnosis. While in the program, he began medical care and quickly achieved/maintained viral suppression. As a client, he always showed an interest in advocacy and displayed a genuine love for working with people. Later, Laurenzo became an EPY Peer Navigator and has been assisting youth living with HIV get access to medical care and HAART. He’s also served as a Patient Advocate for ViiV’s “Couch Talks” and know operates as a mentor for ViiV’s Positive Action for Youth grant. Since joining the RAIN family, Laurenzo has touched the lives of so many with his personal story and service to the community. While currently pursuing his Bachelors in the field of social work, he continues to lead youth living with HIV to the tools to they need to lead the best life possible and achieve viral suppression.
