Study Coordinator (backup)
Rafael is a Project Director at the Center for HIV/AIDS Educational Studies and Training (CHEST) at the City University of New York (CUNY), Hunter College. He graduated from Villanova University in May 2015 with a B.S. in Biology and recently began the medical school application process. Prior to joining CHEST, Rafael spent his summers in between college shadowing physicians in the United States and Latin America. His time in Latin America involved volunteering on medical missions determined to provide free medical care to the disadvantaged and neglected communities of the Dominican Republic and Honduras. These clinical experiences not only solidified his ambition to pursue a career in healthcare, but developed a passion for aiding underserved groups. This passion led Rafael to join CHEST in September 2016, where he has primarily worked on the Scale It Up U19 protocols.
