Dr. Simpson received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and then completed her pediatric residency and adolescent medicine fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She received her MPH from the UAB School of Public Health.
Dr. Simpson is a Professor of Pediatrics at UAB and practices at the Adolescent Health Center at Children’s of Alabama. Dr. Simpson is the Director of Faculty Development for the Department of Pediatrics as well as the training director for the adolescent medicine fellowship and the HRSA/MCHB-funded Leadership Education in Adolescent Health training program. Dr. Simpson has both clinical and research experience with adolescents, especially high-risk adolescents. She is the director of the HRSA-funded Ryan White Program in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
